Below is our current catalog of corporate workshops. Every session can be delivered as a standalone workshop or combined into a custom leadership development series. All workshops are available in-person, virtual, or hybrid, and can be tailored to your industry and team size.
Workshop 1

Foundations of People Leadership

Category: Leadership Fundamentals

Format: Full-day (6 hrs) or two half-day sessions

Audience: New and first-time people managers

Group size: Up to 25

Overview

Designed for employees stepping into management for the first time, this workshop covers the core mechanics of leading people: setting expectations, giving feedback, running effective 1:1s, and handling early performance issues with confidence.

Workshop 2

Leading Through Change & Ambiguity

Category: Change, Resilience & Well-Being

Format: Half-day (3.5 hrs)

Audience: Managers and directors leading teams through restructuring, growth, or uncertainty

Group size: Up to 30

Overview

Change is constant in most organizations — this workshop equips leaders with practical tools to guide teams through ambiguity, reduce change fatigue, and keep people engaged and productive during periods of disruption.

Workshop 3

Executive Presence & Strategic Communication

Format: Full-day (6 hrs)

Audience: Senior managers, directors, and executives preparing for greater visibility and influence

Overview

This workshop helps senior leaders sharpen how they communicate with influence — in meetings, presentations, and high-stakes conversations with executives, boards, and clients.

Workshop 4

Coaching Skills for Managers

Category: Leadership Fundamentals

Format: Two half-day sessions (spaced 2–3 weeks apart)

Audience: People managers at all levels

Group size: Up to 20

Overview

Moves managers from “telling” to “coaching” — building the skills to ask better questions, develop their team’s problem-solving ability, and support employee growth without doing the work for them.

Learning Outcomes

  • Use a simple coaching conversation framework (GROW-based)
  • Ask better, more open questions in 1:1s
  • Support career development conversations
  • Know when to coach vs. when to direct

Format Includes

Live coaching practice with peer feedback between sessions, plus a coaching conversation guide.

Workshop 5

Building High-Performing, Psychologically Safe Teams

Category: Team Performance & Culture

Format: Full-day (6 hrs)

Audience: Intact teams and their managers

Group size: Up to 25 (best delivered to a single intact team)

Overview

Grounded in trust and psychological safety research, this workshop helps teams identify what’s holding them back — communication gaps, unspoken conflict, unclear roles — and build a shared plan to work better together.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify team strengths and dysfunction using a structured assessment
  • Build shared norms for communication and conflict
  • Increase willingness to raise concerns and take risks as a team
  • Leave with a team working agreement

Format Includes

Pre-workshop team survey, facilitated discussion of results, and a co-created team working agreement.

Workshop 6

Board Governance Essentials for Leaders

Category: Governance & Board Leadership

Format: Full-day (6 hrs) or condensed half-day

Audience: Board members, board-track executives, senior staff supporting boards

Group size: Up to 20

Overview

Covers the fundamentals of effective board governance in the Canadian context — fiduciary duty, board-staff relationships, financial oversight, and effective board meetings. A practical companion to CLA’s self-paced Board Governance course.

  • Understand fiduciary duty and legal responsibilities of board members
  • Distinguish governance from operations
  • Read and question financial statements as a board member
  • Run and participate in more effective board meetings

Format Includes

Case studies drawn from Canadian non-profit and corporate governance, a board self-assessment tool, and a meeting effectiveness checklist.

Workshop 7

Inclusive Leadership in Practice

Category: Inclusive & People-Centred Leadership

Format: Half-day (3.5 hrs)

Audience: People managers and senior leaders

Group size: Up to 30

Overview

Moves beyond awareness-building into practical behaviour change — helping leaders recognize bias in everyday decisions (hiring, promotion, assignment of work) and build habits that make teams more equitable and inclusive.

  • Recognize common patterns of bias in management decisions
  • Apply an inclusive decision-making checklist to hiring and promotion
  • Create more equitable participation in meetings and assignments
  • Respond effectively when bias or exclusion shows up on a team

Format Includes

Scenario-based small group work, a bias-interruption checklist, and a personal inclusion action plan.

Workshop 8

Women in Leadership

Category: Inclusive & People-Centred Leadership

Format: Full-day (6 hrs) or half-day

Audience: Women in management and emerging leadership roles (open enrollment or organization-specific cohorts)

Group size: Up to 25

Overview

Addresses the specific dynamics women often navigate in leadership roles — visibility, negotiation, executive presence, and building sponsorship — combined with practical strategy for career advancement.

  • Build a personal leadership brand and visibility strategy
  • Practice negotiation for role, scope, and compensation
  • Identify and build sponsor relationships (not just mentors)
  • Navigate common workplace dynamics with confidence

Workshop 9

Leading Reconciliation-Minded Workplaces

Category: Inclusive & People-Centred Leadership

Format: Half-day (3.5 hrs)

Audience: Senior leaders, HR, and DEI teams

Group size: Up to 30

Overview

Developed with respect for Indigenous perspectives on leadership and workplace culture, this workshop helps organizational leaders understand their role in reconciliation — from land acknowledgment practice to building genuinely inclusive policies and relationships with Indigenous employees, partners, and communities.

  • Understand the historical and organizational context for reconciliation in Canadian workplaces
  • Move from symbolic gestures to substantive action
  • Identify practical steps for policy and culture change
  • Build respectful, informed relationships with Indigenous colleagues and communities

Format Includes

Facilitated discussion, case examples from Canadian organizations, and an organizational action-planning worksheet. Note: this workshop is developed in consultation with Indigenous leadership advisors and is customized per engagement.

Workshop 10

Succession Planning & Building Your Leadership Pipeline

Category: Strategic & Executive Leadership

Format: Full-day (6 hrs), typically delivered to HR/executive teams

Audience: Executives, HR leaders, and senior management involved in succession decisions

Group size: Up to 15

Overview

A working session — not just a lecture — that helps leadership teams identify high-potential talent, close critical skill gaps, and build a practical succession plan for key roles.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify critical roles and succession risk across the organization
  • Build criteria for identifying high-potential talent
  • Design individual development plans for successors
  • Leave with a draft succession plan for at least one critical role
